The Refinishing Department
 

When a piano comes into the factory each part is inspected and inventoried. If the piano is to be refinished it's first stop will be in the Stripping and Sanding Department.

The old finish is stripped off each piece. Wood repairs are made and each part is sanded smooth.

Next the piano is stained, filled, sealed, shaded, and coated with at least 8 coats of lacquer. Here Kim, our expert refinisher, sprays a fallboard.
