When a piano comes into the factory each
part is inspected and inventoried. If the piano is to be refinished it's first
stop will be in the Stripping and Sanding Department.

The old finish is stripped off each
piece. Wood repairs are made and each part is sanded smooth.

Next the piano is stained, filled,
sealed, shaded, and coated with at least 8 coats of lacquer. Here Kim, our
expert refinisher, sprays a fallboard.
